The Honda CR-V is a compact SUV manufactured by Honda since 1995 and it was introduced in the North American market in 1997.
It’s based on the Honda Civic platform with a SUV body. The CR-V is Honda’s mid-sized SUV, fitting in between the smaller HR-V and the larger Honda Pilot.
According to Honda, “CR-V” stands for “Comfortable Runabout Vehicle”.
The 5th gen Honda CR-V has been available since 2017 and received a facelift for the 2020 model year. In 2020 the US version comes standard with a 1.5L 4 cylinder turbocharged engine that puts out 190 horsepower. Both FWD and 4WD systems are available as well as a CR-V Hybrid with a 2.0L Atkinson-Cycle engine paired with Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist System.
