The Pontiac Firebird, produced from 1967 to 2002, was a defining American pony car designed to rival the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, with its final model year marking the end of an iconic era.
By 2002, the Firebird offered two engine options: a 3.8L V6 producing 200 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, and a 5.7L V8 delivering 310 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque in the Trans Am WS6 trim.
Both engines featured rear-wheel drive (RWD) and were paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
The 5.7L V8, part of the LS1 engine family, was a standout for its performance and connection to GM's high-performance legacy.
